Why Go Backward?
You might be asking, "Wait shouldn't this be the other way around? Shouldn't you want to make outdated morphs compatible with a newer base figure?"
"Well, yes but...", let me assure you that there is a method to my madness.
In my case, I already have a large library of 3d content (clothing, props, and poses) that are compatible with Genesis 1. That legacy 3d content is not compatible with the newer Genesis figures. So it doesn't make sense to upgrade and then lose the investment I made in my 3d library.
Luckily there is a way around this using the Generation X2 plug-in for DAZ Studio. Generation X2 allows you to transfer morphs between different versions of Genesis. That means if I see a Genesis 2 or 3 character that I like, I can make those morphs work with Genesis 1 and still be able to use all the content in my 3d library with it. This video walks you through the methodology and process for doing this.
